Ka'Deem Wynn - Another amazing display of speed from our Florida athletes, American Heritage’s Anthony ‘Flash’ Schwartz was our lone male sprinter who qualified for the Adidas Dream 100 at the Boost Boston Games this year. Schwartz, who was the state's top 100-meter runner (10.26), and one of the fastest in the 200-meters (20.73), had come off of an injury (a torn ligament in his hand) just weeks after the state meet, and handled himself well in the field with some of the nation’s best.

Maybe not in the shape he was when he won state titles, but he certainly was healed up enough to run with the best. After a smooth and quick start, Schwartz pushed down the track and, in the end, took second in the 100, running 10.66.

Some time after the race, he went to Twitter, stating his aspirations for next season, saying “10.1 - 10.0 next year, wait on it.”

The track season is right around the corner and the road to May 2017 is about to begin. All eyes will be on Schwartz, among others, who are the top returners in the state. What will we see Schwartz throw down in 2017? If he can stay healthy, there’s a good chance that this season, like many witnessed before, will be a very special one, especially for Anthony Schwartz.
