DyeStat Florida's Top 10 Moments of 2016 - Miami Northwestern Lady Bulls are DyeStat 's National Track and Field Champions - DyeStatFL 2016Published by
Ka'Deem Wynn - After a few weeks of wading through the rest of the field, it was decided that the girls of Miami Northwestern’s would be crowned as the DyeStat National Dual Meet Champions. The way that this was done was, after compiling stats and results from athletic.net, a hypothetical dual meet/ national championship tournament was created to see who was the best dual meet team in the nation. Performances used for the tournament are from the in-season regular school schedule, ending with a school's state meet, according to DyeStat.
With a few guidelines in order to be eligible, such as each team that was listed on the bracket is a state champion or section champions, and that a particular athlete can only "participate" in four events, including relays, the Lady Bulls that know and love, led by Carmen Jackson, like always, “competed” and worked their way to a national title, winning with, 88 points.
One thing that helped them secure this national title was their overwhelming dominance. For example, at the FHSAA Class 3A District 16 meet, the Bulls scored 370 points, which was more than the 10 other teams entered in the meet combined.
Just let that sink in. The teams in the entire district can combine into one massive school (though this would mean they probably wouldn’t still be in 3A) and they still wouldn’t beat this one team. If that’s not impressive, then what is?
The Miami Northwestern girls that we’ve always known has shown the rest of the nation that they have depth in the throws, hurdles, sprints, relays and jumps. That’s probably the reason why the Bulls have won eight 3A state titles.
