Last week, David Halliday of Flagler Palm Coast won our first edition of the DyeStatFL Coach of the Week honors. This should come as no surprise as he is constantly being recognized for being an outstanding all-around Coach. Recently, in 2014,  Coach Halliday was one of the national finalists for the Brooks Inspiring Coaches Award.

This week we’ll highlight 4 more coaches and let you the fan decide who was our coach of the week.

Dan Dearing The Bolles School: His girls are the defending FHSAA State 2A Track and field Champions and guides their 400m/800m runners.  Bolles boasts the number one female 800m runner in the state, Caitlyn Collier, who ran an amazing 2:11.88 FL#1 last weekend at the UNF Spring Break Invitational.

Corey Poole Lincoln High School: Lincoln High School stayed home last weekend and ran at the FSU Relays. Both the boys and girls teams had great success in the meet as the boy team won with a score of 63 points, 1 point better than second place West Florida Tech HS. The Girls also won the meet with a score of 58 points, 7 better than that of second place Pine Crest. Coach Poole’s runners scored all of their points in the sprinting and jumping events. If they could find a few scoring distance runners they could be a force as the FSU Relays is one of the more competitive meets of the season.

Alex Armenteros St. Thomas Aquinas: When going through the performance lists on DyeStat and DyeStat FL, it is funny to see how many athletes from FL have hit top US marks. Alex Armenteros happens to coach many of these athletes at St. Thomas Aquinas. According to the DyeStat database, STA is currently the 3rd ranked track team in the country based off of DyeStat top 100 marks. Last weekend at the Texas Relays, Coach Armenteros girls 4x400 team recorded the US #4 mark with a time of 3:46.44 and the 4x200 team recorded the US #1 mark with a 1:35.93.

James Travieso Vanguard High School: Last week at the MCIAC Championships, Coach Travieso’s boys and girls distance squads were the talk of the meet. In the boys team scoring, the distance squad accounted for 90.5 points, and the girls accounted for 94 points. Coach Travieso’s runners won both 4x800m Relays and had the individual and runner-ups in both the girls and guys 1600m, 800m, and 3200m runs.
