Elizabeth Harper of Merritt Island announces her committment to the University of South Florida (USF) next year.

Harper, a senior on the Lady Mustangs team that finished 4th place finish at 3A States after winning their Region talks about why she chose USF as well as the recruitment process and the advice she has for runners wanting to run collegiately.

It was not only USF's Division 1 athletic accomplishments, placing 11th in the Big East and 23rd at the South Regionals but also the academic reputation of USF's nursing program that led to her decision.

With an 18:50 PR, she hopes to add more firepower to Coach Dena Reif's already talented young cast. In the meantime, her eyes are set on her last track season as a Mustang, aiming to make some noise in 3A, in addition to improving on her times of 5:22 for the 1600 and 11:51 for the 3200. Elizabeth Harper is one step closer to D1 cross country and track, and one step closer to running with the Bulls.
