Bill Ward, long time Tampa Tribune Prep reporter announced his retirement today. This is one of those watershed moments when you realize that change is inevitable and sometimes very sad. Bill was a true fan of XC and Track and Field and a distance runner himself. I have many great memories of seeing Bill in action over the years. I'll always remember him down on all fours at the State Meet capturing unforgettable images of the staggering effects of the Green Monster's toll. Bill also showed me was rather innovative and was really the first to use the Coveritlive software to blog from Track meets while using cooling pads to keep his electronics from overheating in the sweltering heat.
I'll surely miss Bill's work and love for the sports. We wish him well.
So, both of the FSU verbals so far this year that I know of, Bridget Blake from Dr Phillips and Grant Nykaza from Belcher in Illinois, have both qualified for Foot Locker Nationals ! Go Noles ! Bridget was 6th in the South and Grant was 5th in the Midwest. Both are State Champions from their respective State.
The Seminoles now have verbal commitments from 2, 2 time Foot Locker finalists. Bridget Blake committed today and Grant Nykaza from illinois verballed back in mid October. Pretty solid so far especiallly if Ajee is here in the Fall as well.
