Hi DyeStatFL readers! As we all know, this time of year is signing season, and I just wanted to share my advice and experience as a recruit!

Initially, I had every intention to sign in the spring in order to weigh all my options after college admissions were returned. However, I signed earlier than I originally intended, and ended up committing to run cross-country and track for Florida State University!

For many, including myself, the recruiting process can be exceptionally overwhelming. So, my advice to future recruits is to visit as many colleges as you can. Before doing any visits, I was completely indecisive as to where I wanted to go, and which college would suit me best. But, once I toured Tallahassee, I felt most at home and could see myself there for the next four years.

Another piece of advice is to keep your mind open to all opportunities! This part was particularly the most difficult part of the process, as I was biased towards attending a different college. I decided to stay open-minded about the visit with FSU, and was most impressed during my stay. It was very important to me to pick a college where the team was close, and I could see myself enjoying the school despite the athletic atmosphere. Ultimately, after getting a closer look at the FSU team, and their awesome coach, I was completely sold on the school.

So, future recruits, remember to weigh all your options carefully and not rush the decision! Stay open-minded and enjoy the experience! And a big good luck to all athletes in any upcoming races!
